The SNE-NL makes it easier to renew unemployment registration (“sign on”) with a new automated telephone system available 24 hours a day, every day of the year

The Navarre Employment Service – Nafar Lansare (SNE-NL) is taking another step to make procedures easier for citizens. From now on, renewing unemployment registration will be easier with the new automated telephone system available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. This measure aims to promote simpler and more accessible processing and is part of the Administrative Simplification plans implemented by the Government of Navarra.

Until now, users could renew their registration through the SNE-NL mobile application and/or via telephone within service hours from 08:00 to 14:30. With this new feature, those who choose the telephone channel will be able to automatically “sign on” their registration 24 hours a day, every day of the year.

To access the service, users must call 848 424 500, select the service language (Spanish or Basque), and then choose option 2, “Renew unemployment registration.” The system will request some basic information to verify the user’s identity and, once validated, will automatically complete the renewal.

After completing the process, the user will receive an SMS confirmation on the mobile phone registered in the SNE-NL database, along with the date of the next renewal.

Renewal will be carried out provided it is within the scheduled date and the required conditions are met.

In the event of exceptional circumstances preventing a successful renewal, the call will be transferred to be handled by direct telephone support staff, as long as the call takes place within customer service hours (08:00 to 14:30).

The aim is to offer citizens a more accessible option, without time restrictions and from any location, providing a more convenient way to complete this procedure.

The organisation’s telephone service is managed jointly by its own staff and staff from the public company NASERTIC. A total of 15 operators provide this service. In 2025, a total of 77,396 calls were received, 68% of which were answered. The activation of the callback system, introduced last year, has made it possible to handle 95% of incoming calls. Up to mid-June, 46,791 calls have been received. Of the calls handled this year, 52% relate to registration renewals, 30% request general information about programmes and/or services, and 12% request appointments.

Registration renewal can also be carried out through the SNE-NL mobile app, online, or in person at Employment Offices by prior appointment. In the coming days, a new version of the mobile app will be available to citizens, improving both the design and usability, and resolving some identified issues.
